Custom Sculpt of a Foliate Head - medieval architectural details

While we are no strangers to pre-viz workflows, as our films are greatly impacted by having as much planned as possible, the intended virtual production workflow allows us even more time and flexibility to take things to the next level. Rather than hiring an army of craftsmen to develop something for months, we now have quick back and forth conversations about what the look of the film is truly saying about the character.
Take for instance, these medieval foliate heads. They are found throughout Europe, especially in religious settings as the local masons fought to preserve their local customs. They have achieved a deific quality as a result

With the current state of the project, we are looking at using arches and open windowframes to illuminate these dark medieval interiors and greatly expand the depth and complexity of our scenes
